The Meadowdale Players proudly present the Winter One Acts, two fabulous one-act plays directed by seniors Eleni Harper and Lucy Knudson. This production is rated PG-13.
Saving the Greeks: One Tragedy at a Time (one-act) by Jason Pizzarello is directed by Eleni Harper. In an ambitious plan to bring peace to Ancient Greece, Dialysis and Peon create Betterland, a city where once-doomed tragic characters can start a better life. But this new society of refugees must face enemies and Gods who don't tolerate free will or utopian ideals. Weaving together the stories of Ancient Greek characters from Oedipus to Hercules, this hilarious reinvention of the classics asks the question, "Is it possible to escape your own fate?"
The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon (one-act) by Don Zolidis is directed by Lucy Knudson. Two narrators attempt to recreate all 209 of the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm in a wild, fast-paced extravaganza. To make it more difficult, they attempt to combine them into one gigantic fable using Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and other more obscure stories like Lean Lisa and The Devil's Grandmother.
